History & Significance
Hinglaj Mata, also known as Hinglaj Devi, is one of the most revered mother goddesses in the Hindu tradition. She is worshipped as the supreme manifestation of Adi Shakti — the primordial cosmic energy. Her primary seat is in the Makran coastal region of Balochistan, Pakistan, making it one of the most important cross-border pilgrimage sites in South Asia.
According to mythology, when Lord Shiva carried the body of his consort Sati, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshana Chakra to dismember Sati's body. The 51 places where body parts fell became the sacred Shakti Peethas. Hinglaj is where Sati's head fell — making it one of the most potent of all Shakti Peethas.
The annual Hinglaj Yatra, held during the Chaitra month (March–April), attracts over 250,000 pilgrims each year who trek through rugged terrain to seek Mata Hinglaj's blessings.
In the spirit of bringing this divine energy closer to all devotees, the Hinglaj Mataji Temple & Charitable Trust is constructing a beautiful temple in Gujarat — creating a sacred space for worship, community, and spiritual growth.
